While not exactly... around anymore, RPGurus was (if I recall) my first paying job, so I was glad to be doing it. I designed two main layouts, the first of which having two variations, as seen below. The centered design (which I was more fond of anyway) is what ended up being used on the site itself, despite being broken up with ads near the top. It's a shame I didn't know about the ads ahead of time, otherwise I could have designed around them. But... it didn't turn out so bad. Simple, but not bad. More images:
