In both worlds, Van is a... more or less unhappy teenage artist. In Another World, he's depressed as his father is rich and greedy, and seems to only care about money. In Home World, Van and his father live in poverty, with hardly any money to their name, which is enough to make anyone unhappy as well. In battle, Van is a master of the boomerang, and um... weird techs.
