A cyborg assassin working with the Porre army, Grobyc's origin is (surprise surprise) shrouded in mystery. While he initially works against you, Grobyc's attitude is that he only fights alongside those more powerful than him. So of course, if you're able to defeat him in battle... Recruitment ...he'll join your party. After defeating Grobyc in Viper Manor (while attempting to rescue Riddel), you'll bump into him as you're leaving, and he'll offer to join.
